Connecticut Northern Pike. On New Year's Eve!

Connecticut Northern Pike. On New Year's Eve!

Kate and I got on the water for one last hooray for 2018. Air temp was 39 so we took advantage of the day. We were able to land one Northern Pike on the Fly! Here is to an awesome 2018 and even better 2019! Can’t wait to see what the New Year Brings!

Thank you everyone and every fish making 2018 Special! Follow me on IG: Pogo_Pike

38 degree water temps and the fish were active during bite window. A slow retrieve seems to do the trick. Water levels are still high in the rivers, the ground just can’t absorb any more water. Hopefully mother nature gives us a few more weeks. Tight lines!

Trout Unlimited - Guest Speaker - Pike & Musky on the Fly

Trout Unlimited - Guest Speaker - Pike & Musky on the Fly

It was so much fun to share all things pike and musky on the fly during my hour presentation to the Croton Watershed Trout Unlimited Chapter. This is the second presentation I have done for TU over the last few years and it is always a blast! Seeing peoples feedback who have not fished for pike and musky on the fly is always fun!

Fishing is good!

Late Spring has been really good! Fish or showing up more consistently. Pike and bass are on the move and are very active during parts of the day! Myself and my clients have been seeing and landing fishing every time out, which it is predator fishing, so that is a great thing!

The trout fishing on the Housatonic is in full bloom, water clarity has been good despite the huge storm that rocked CT, MA, and NY. Bugs are hatching and life is good! I am excited to see what the next month brings on the water!
